Paris Hotels Lost 1.3 Million Visitors in 2016

Today i explain you this news. Paris hotels lost over a million tourist visits in 2016 as the city’s tourism industry is still struggling to recover from last year’s deadly attacks.

The Greater Paris area saw a six percent annual drop in hotel bookings made in 2016, compared to 2015. The decline has largely been observed in visitors from abroad, as hotel stays of non-French citizens dropped by 10 percent, the Paris Tourism Office stated in an annual report.

The report estimates there has been a 1.3 million fall from the 22.2 million tourists who booked a stay in the city of light in 2015, making 2016 a seven-year-low for hotel bookings. But Pierre Chapira, president of the city’s tourism board, told newspaper Le Figaro that he saw some grounds for optimism.

It must be remembered that Paris was severely attacked in November 2015. Anyway In a press statement, the board said that Paris has shown it is capable of holding large events in “a difficult security context” after hosting the COP12 climate change conference and the Euro 2016 football championship without any extremist attacks.

Martins claims that last month hotel bookings were less than two percent off the same figure for 2015. "We are not far from returning to rates comparable to 2014,” he said. “We must continue to invest."

At US airports, alcohol can be sold before boarding the plane. – what could possibly go wrong?

This article tells a new about that in this year, in US airports you can takeaway alchol.

While Europe tries to clamp down on sozzled air passengers, lawmakers in the US state of Missouri have approved a bill that would allow the state’s airports to sell takeaway booze to holidaymakers. What could possibly go wrong?

Supporters claim the new legislation would encourage more business at airports and increase passenger satisfaction, especially for those in need of some Dutch courage before flying. The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.

If approved, it would allow holidaymakers to drink alcohol as they wander around the terminals. Passengers would even be allowed to quaff booze at the gate, though they would not be able to take drinks onto the aircraft with them.

While only bars located beyond security would be allowed to sell alcohol-to-go, critics are concerned that the new law could encourage drunkenness at airports and on flights.

Shannon Sumrall, a spokeswoman for Nashville International Airport, told USA Today that there had been no evidence of an increase in drunkenness since the airport started selling takeaway alcohol in 2014.

Methods of preventing people from drinking duty-free alcohol on planes are being considered, while Jet2.com has taken the step of banning alcohol from its early morning flights.

Here you have my opinion about this post

In my opinion, this can go wrong beacause you don't know if you're going to be safe at the airport, If there may be a problem during the flight. Nowadays the airports are very guarded, but yes it is true that the people skip the norms. In theory low-grade alcohol is sold and it would be small but that if not controlled well there may be a big problem. In the United States they always want to go ahead of the rest of the world, that's not bad, but you have to know how to do it well and think about everything and everyone.

Azure Window of Malta Collapses Into the Sea After Storm

If you’re headed to Malta, don’t expect to capture the Azure Window in shiny filters for Instagram. The popular limestone arch collapsed into the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday.

Located on Gozo island and formally known as Tieqa tad-Dwejra, the arch served as a backdrop in the first episode of the HBO series “Game of Thrones,” the movie “Clash of The Titans” and in the Instagram posts of many a traveler.

Malta, in the central Mediterranean, has a population of roughly 400,000 and counts tourism as a main economic driver. In recent years, rising interest in the arch and nearby sites has been driven in part by their appearance in the series “Game of Thrones,” which will air its seventh season on HBO this year. The Azure Window was a backdrop for the wedding of Daenerys Targaryen, a recurring character played by Emilia Clarke, to Khal Drogo, portrayed by Jason Momoa, in the first episode in mid-2011.

In 2013 a geological study of the site found that erosion was inevitable. Last year in response to that and to concerns for public safety, the authorities banned walking across the site, with a fine of just over $1,500 for lawbreakers.

In the end, nature — in the form of a heavy storm — not humans doomed the arch.

My opinion about this new

This news is sad because, although it was nature that caused this point that no longer has a solution, it's a shame because it was one of the most beautiful places to visit.

This can also cause tourism to go down in Malta because in that landscape scenes of important series and movies were recorded, so much so that people just go there to see it.

Nature will not give us back that piece of stone, but we will have the photos of the memory. And they are sure to do other things so that people have a reason to go to Malta.
